Ordering & Quotes
How does ordering from Rivex work?
Everything starts with a quote request. Tell us which products you need and roughly how much you go through — by the form on this site or by email to [email protected] — and we come back with pricing, lead time, and the full product specification in writing. No account setup, no minimum commitment to ask.
How fast will I hear back on a quote?
Quote requests go directly to the people who source the products — not a ticketing queue. We aim to respond within one business day.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Minimums vary by product and are always stated on your quote, never discovered after the fact. As an importer we're strongest at case and multi-case volumes; if your quantity is small, ask anyway — we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
Can I get samples before ordering?
For serious volume inquiries we arrange manufacturer samples as part of the quoting process. Sample timelines depend on the product — ask when you request your quote.
Do you publish prices?
No — every order is quoted. Pricing depends on quantity, packaging (stock vs. private label), and freight, so a published list price would either mislead you or pad a margin. A quote states exactly what you'd pay.
Products & Quality
Are your products sterile?
Both options exist in the catalog and every product page states its status plainly. Sterile SKUs (like our 12-ply woven gauze sponges and krinkle rolls) are EO-sterilized under ISO 11135 in validated sterile-barrier packaging with printed expiration dates. Non-sterile SKUs say so directly — nothing is left ambiguous.
Are your products latex-free?
Yes. Every product in the catalog is made from cotton, rayon/polyester, polypropylene, or paper — none contain natural rubber latex, and latex-free status is confirmed on each Certificate of Analysis.
What does USP Type VII mean on your gauze?
The United States Pharmacopeia defines gauze types by verifiable numbers: thread count, weight per square meter, and absorbency (sinking time). Type VII is the 20×12-mesh specification hospitals order by name. When we say USP Type VII, those numbers are in the spec table and testable on delivery — see our Gauze Buying Guide for the full breakdown.
What makes the SMS gown better than the tissue gown I buy now?
Four things, all measurable: fluid resistance (SMS fabric tests near 79 cm H₂O hydrostatic head vs. 10–20 for tissue-based gowns), lint (SMS sheds virtually none), tear strength at the ties (ours are ultrasonically welded), and opacity when wet. We sell both — the honest comparison is on our SMS vs. Tissue Gowns page.
Where are the products made?
In China, by ISO 13485-certified, FDA-registered manufacturers — and we say that plainly because the specification, not the flag, determines quality. We publish full specs for every SKU, require Certificates of Analysis with each lot, and source cotton only with UFLPA-compliant origin documentation.
Compliance & Documentation
Are you FDA registered?
The manufacturers we source from hold FDA establishment registrations and ISO 13485 certification, and we share that documentation with quotes. Rivex Medical itself is a Texas-based importer and distributor; product-level US classifications (most of our catalog is FDA Class I, 510(k) exempt) are listed on every product page. If you've been told 'FDA registered' means 'FDA approved' — it doesn't, and our FDA Registration Explained guide covers the difference honestly.
What documentation comes with an order?
Every order ships with lot traceability, and sterile products carry printed expiration dates. On request we provide the written product specification, Certificate of Analysis per lot, cotton origin certificates (UFLPA), and the manufacturer's ISO 13485 and FDA registration documentation.
What is UFLPA and why do you mention cotton origin?
The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act bars imports containing cotton from China's Xinjiang region, and US Customs enforces it against medical cotton specifically. Every cotton product we source requires a certificate of origin — and for dental cotton, gin-level documentation — confirming non-Xinjiang cotton. It protects your supply from CBP detention and is simply the right way to source.
Shipping & Fulfillment
How quickly can I get product?
Products are made to order and imported, so lead times depend on the product and quantity — your quote states the real timeline for your order rather than a marketing promise. If your need is urgent, tell us the date you're working against and we'll tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
Who pays freight?
Freight is quoted with the product — one number, no surprise line items at invoice. Delivered pricing is stated on every quote.
What if there's a problem with my order?
Email [email protected] with your lot number — it's printed on every unit's packaging, which is exactly why we require lot traceability. Quality issues are checked against the Certificate of Analysis for that lot and made right.
Private Label
Do you offer private label?
It's our core model. Every SKU is already specified for custom-printed retail packaging, UPC and UDI barcoding, and English/Spanish bilingual labels. If you distribute under your own brand, we quote your label as the default, not as a premium add-on.
What do you need from me for a private-label quote?
The products and quantities, plus your brand assets (logo and any label copy). We handle the packaging specification — box dies, label layouts, barcode registration guidance — as part of the order.
